Taste Test Results

So.... three different types of coconut cupcakes went to work with my better half and myself the other day. I questioned and surveyed everyone, even those that did not eat.

1. Which one looks better
2. Which flavour combo do you prefer?
3. What would you do differently?
4. What do you think of when you think 'coconut'?
5. Is the (insert food related word here) too strong or too weak?

I had a chart with various categories and kept track of every comment with little side notes. I found the percentage for each preferred cupcake, calculated several flavour suggestions and found a total of 467 possible combinations. Separated the testers by age, hair colour, family size, and what kind of car they drove. It seems that all Volkswagen drivers prefer chocolate. (weird) In the end - it seems that they were all liked equally, and though the dulce de leche was a little higher on the list, it wasn't really the coconut flavour that wowed them.

My better half didn't really quiz anyone, but said the staff liked them. They were all gone by the end of the day. I will take that as success.

Conclusion: I am no further ahead in finding the perfect coconut cupcake than I was a week ago!

I'll keep plugging away at it and get back to you. Back to the drawing board!
